A 'reminder'
article "Feminist activism-paid for by you and me" (Certainly
a good article to help us remember and realize the total inequality
in our lives as citizens-and why
we have no real power to change anything until the 'playing
fields' are equal. One way or the other we have to make that happen.
Quite simply its the matter of resources and 'bodies on the ground' and
the sheer constructive 'weight' in having the right tools to do the job
and ensure the equality of Men under the law.)
Yes that's the way it is people. When you have finished reading the
article below simply ask yourself the question: "Where is OUR report to
the UN? At the end of the day it comes down to this: Women's Rights and
the well being and work done for Canadian Women comes to them courtesy
of millions upon millions of public purse (taxpayer provided) dollars
via parliament to Heritage Canada to Status of Women and then on to a
variety of women's-issue oriented organizations and programs. For men
those millions of dollars in assistance amounts to exactly zero in terns
of equal treatment as supposedly guaranteed under the Charter. that
alone to me seems an absolute abuse of the parliamentary system which is
supposed to be working on behalf of us ALL.
