1949 - April: United Nations World magazine publishes an article by
Ambassador Warren Austin, chief of the U.S. Mission to the UN, in which he
pronounces that “….World government could not be accepted without radical
change of national outlook…. It will take a long time to prepare peoples
and governments of most nations for acceptance of and participation in a
world government….If we expect this future world government to be created
by agreement and not by force or conquest, we will have to be willing to
work patiently until peoples or governments are ready for it….
